We turned our theme on its ear in this segment when we visited a fire house - a place where the occupants must make a home where they work. While there John Pynch taught us how to make a delicious pasta dish. Firemen are known for their good eats, and this was no exception!

Posilipo Sauce

You'll need:

-6 to 8 shallots
-1 entire head of garlic, peeled and sliced
-1/3 cup of olive oil
-15 fresh basil leaves
-2 lbs canned tomatoes
-1 cup of non-alcoholic cooking wine (you don't want to be tipsy when that alarm sounds)
-2lbs Steamed mussles
-2lbs Shrimp peeled and seasoned


Sautee the shallots in the olive oil until translucent, then put in the garlic. While the shallots and garlic continue to cook, chiffonade the basil (roll a few leaves up and slice them to create long strips). Deglaze the pan with the wine, then add the tomatoes. Bring the pan to the boil, then add the shrimp and basil and the mussels and cook until the shrimp are pink. Toss with the pasta and serve!

Shrimp seasoning:

-2 t cayenne pepper
-1 t chili powder
-1 t dried oregano
-1 t white pepper
-Salt and pepper to taste


Toss with the peeled shrimp and let marinate for a few hours.
