WHY
DIDN'T YOU THINK OF THAT? Should you find yourself cooped up because of a hangover (I like to call it the cocktail flu), make an aromatherapy eye pillow with an old black glove filled with playground sand scented with one teaspoon of essential oil (nothing to sweet or strong), then tie off the glove with a piece of rat tail cord and place it over your eyes to block out all that annoying light. Tom Brown came to me in a dream to show us how to survive in the wilderness on the contents of my purse. Oddly enough that dream was broadcast. He says that with a few simple things you can live quite well in the middle of nowhere: -Panty hose can be filled with leaves and grass to create dead space which will keep you warm. -Hairspray can be used as mace, should you find yourself feeling threatened. It can also be used to bring a coal to flame. -The nail file is the ultimate tool in the wilderness. It can be used to do all sorts of cutting tasks, digging and even as a makeshift weapon should the need arise. -A garbage bag can be used as rain protection and even a makeshift tent. He says that your wits are your best ally in the wilderness. If you try and muscle your way through Mother Nature you only get beat up. We don't want to create reasons to be stuck at home, so when Old Man Winter rears his ugly head we want to be prepared. If your steps are slippery when the snow falls, prepare them in advance by painting them and then "salting" the wet paint with a shaker full of sand. It will provide a no-slip surface for pennies a step. Bonus tip: carry a small bag full of rock salt in your purse, pocket or brief case during the winter months. If you encounter a slippery patch of ice you can sprinkle it out in front of you and avoid that slip. |
