| Putting It Together | Design For Living | |
| DESIGN FOR LIVING The beach is beautiful, the nightlife exciting, the company companionable and the accommodations - dismal. How do you endure the dreadful bedroom in your time share or vacation apartment? With a few accessories easily packed into a suitcase we transformed this dreary bedroom into a charming place to lay your weary, over stimulated head on holiday. The bed has been decked out with a simple spread made of white piquet with piping and corner inserts of pretty blue and green striped cotton. We plumped up the head of it with lots of fun pillows. We also made a drape for the dresser to match the spread. It's simple to do - just take the measurements of the dresser and cut pieces to match each side with 1" seam allowances all around. When you stitch it together, don't stitch the front vertical corners so the front panel can be lifted up to allow access to the drawers. The wall hanging is a curtain panel found in a thrift shop and the room is further brightened with a cornice and shade and personal accessories like the pictures and lamps. With personal touches like these, any beach or mountain retreat can display your personality without breaking the bank or precluding the return of your security deposit.
