DESIGN FOR LIVING

A game party without a game room is like an elephant without a trunk. We created a game room that is fun, colorful and welcoming. Our color scheme is a bright collection of primary hues - red, blue and yellow with black accents and wood paneled walls. Paneling is back folks. If you have it in your home don't remove it or paint over it. It can be quite the retro statement if featured in the right decorating scheme. We created some whimsical touches with chess pieces as hangers for our roman shade, our felt queen and a checker board tile floor with felt trimmed cork hot pad checkers (Fig. 2). Our game table has a fitted felt cover and the seats, instead of dull folding chairs are directors chairs with colorful canvas inserts that are trimmed with the suits in felt. You'll see our rolling bar makes another appearance in this room - perfect for serving drinks and hors d'oeuvres from (Fig. 1), and we're featuring lots of pillows on the floor for extra comfort when playing floor checkers! With a game room like this your game parties can't help but be successful!
