While enjoying the wilderness I was visited by Andrew Enzi - an artist who makes darling sculptures out of otherwise ordinary logs, using, among other tools, chainsaws. He demonstrated how to make a cute little bear planter and showed us some of his adorable life sized statues. Chainsaw sculpting looks easy but it isn't. He let me play with his chainsaw a bit. It wasn't actually me doing all that detail work though. The magic of television and the generosity of his spirit made it look that way. What I learned from the segment is that with some talent and skill you can free the art living in ordinary objects, and nature is a wonderful art store - you can find so many remarkable raw materials out there!
