PUTTING
IT TOGETHER Golf clubs are people too, and therefore shouldn't be give short shrift when it comes to wardrobes. We made some darling golf club cozies out of novelty socks and trimmings. Here's how: You'll need: -Socks (we used a yellow and black striped sock, a circus colored argyle and a striped toe
sock) To make the bee sock cozy, pierce your yellow and black sock with the wired bee, with the bee about an inch and a half from the surface of the sock and secure it inside the sock by bending it into a knot. To make the large pompon sock cozy wrap your yarn around a sturdy cardboard card of some kind (the kind bias tape comes on is perfect) until you have a thick bunch of yarn on the card. Then tie another piece of yarn tightly and securely around one side of the yarn bunch (Fig. 1) and cut through the other side directly opposite the knot (Fig. 2). Shake out your pompon and you're ready to apply it to the sock (Fig. 3). Place it on the sock and stitch it down with the needle and thread. To make the toe sock cozy choose pompons of graduated sizes, one for each toe, then using the fabric glue, glue them down to the toes. These three ideas should be springboards for your imagination. I'm sure you can come up with some delightful cozies. Have fun, and if you do, please show me. I'd love to see!
