ANYWHO

Helen Gurley Brown

In this segment we welcomed the legendary original editor-in-chief of Cosmopolitan. Her landmark book Sex and the Single Girl had just been re-released and was selling like hotcakes. She talked to us about sex in the workplace - always a touchy subject. She said the office romance is still thriving. Work is one of the best places to meet potential mates, but discretion is the watchword of the day. Above all, don't define yourself through another person. Live your own life and you'll be that much more attractive to the opposite sex (or same sex, should your interest lie in that realm).

HELP ME BRINI!

Can you deduct your home office? The answer is yes, as long as it's your principle workplace. You may also be able to deduct your services - internet access, printer, fax, etc. But consult with an accountant about your particular situation before making any moves.

RANDOM THOUGHTS

It was such fun to interview Helen Gurley Brown. She's such an icon, and was just a darling woman. That segment was shot on the first day of shooting - July 6th 2003.

The 4 goldfish we used in the design for living segment were only with us a short time, I'm afraid. The art department named them Fiord, Fiord, Dyke and Fiord, in honor of the "Brini on the Road" episode (#101).
