No one likes to be forcibly cooped up at home. It's a staunch soul who can spend hours alone and not feel a twinge of boredom. In this episode we showed you some tools to help wile away the hours should you find yourself kept indoors by a snowstorm (as was my circumstance), a touch of the flu or one of those pesky monitoring ankle bracelets.

ANYWHO

We were visited by hairstylist to the stars (Cindy Crawford, David Bowie and Kim Basinger) - Stephen Knoll who showed us how to address the bad hair day. He says:

Falls and hairpieces are perfect for addressing hair issues. They come in a number of different styles and can be easily attached to change your look in a trice.

A jagged part will help hide roots until you can get to your colorist.

Make sure you go to your stylist regularly - a good haircut is important, especially if it's short and sassy. If you can't get to the stylist and your locks are looking long in the tooth, try accessorizing with a scarf - remember it's all about you, not your hair!

HELP ME BRINI!

What do you bring to a bed ridden friend? Visiting a shut in is a lovely gesture, and a thoughtful gift is always appreciated. Try bringing a care package of dry shampoo, pre-moistened wash cloths and lip balm, or time passers like an embroidery hoop with needles pre-threaded, or books on tape and a small personal stereo, or an intricate coloring book with a collection of brightly colored pencils. Little things mean so much more when you're stuck in bed. Just think back to your own days of enforced rest.

RANDOM THOUGHTS

This episode was the first one to air. Our editor Michael DeMirjian contributed the "AHH" during the piece of archival footage of the snow storm where the person fell down. He did that on his own and presented it to us. We just about hit the floor lauging.

Dave Downing was my date in this episode. He's my musical director when I sing, and I asked him to make a cameo appearance at the end of this show.
