INCIDENTAL TREASURES

Vintage vinyl and the things you play it on are plentiful in thrift shops and garage sales. Often times you'll find great items that people have cast aside in favor of the ease and convenience of cds and mp3s. We featured portable record players, enormous headphones and a wonderful spinning record table for storing your thrift shop finds. We also talked about the disks themselves. The most amazing things are available on vinyl nowadays. Why not go out and see what you can find to soothe the savage beast in you?

OUT AND ABOUT

John Pizzarelli is a very talented musician and sweet guy to boot. We visited him at Birdland where he was playing at the time and he had a lot to say about the sophisticated jazz music that he plays with his trio. Its perfect music for cocktail parties.

RANDOM THOUGHTS

The last scene in this episode was quite an undertaking. I called together a bunch of my friends to come and populate the party. In the corner by the window at the beginning of the scene you see me with someone I'm sure you recognize if youve watched the show at all - Jennifer, our food goddess, next to her is my friend John Tedeschi. When I turn away from them to the folks on the floor pillow I shake hands with Robert Richards, a very talented illustrator whose best friend was the jazz singer, Sarah Vaughn. One half of the identical twins was Amanda, our assistant producer. She was always smiling. It was nice to work with her. On the steps in the royal blue dress with the black lace trim holding the dog (Shorty) is Karen Robinowitz one of the authors of "How to Become Famous in Two Weeks or Less", next to her is my dear friend Chad Evans who has made a lot of my clothing. On the floor by the bar is Eric Snyder who designed the last incarnation of my website. The atmosphere was very much like a party, even though we were rushed to get the shot done.
