You may be a collector without even knowing it! We all have objects stuffed into corners of our home that, if curated, can become a collection. Here's how!

Make Yourself at Home

Why Didn't You Think of That?

Putting It Together

Design for Living

Out and About:

We visited Bob Kulacz who owns Moon Rocks a collection of memorabilia from the moon shots and the Beatles. This combination might seem unlikely, but it isn't as outlandish as it first appears. Both collections reflect the optimism of the 60's. We gave Bob a few ideas for displaying his items and he showed us some fascinating and highly collectable artifacts including a PPK (personal property kit) that was carried by Buzz Aldren on Apollo XI. It was remarkable to hold something that had actually been to the surface of the moon! His collection is available for viewing by individuals and groups.

How do you split up a collection when a relationship is over?

Take into consideration how the items were acquired. If they were bought with one partner's money then that partner should have first dibs. If they were bought jointly or were gifts then negotiation is the order of the day. Remember, generosity will stand you in good stead, karmically.

Random Thoughts:

This episode was inspired by my collection of Vera items. I just love her designs, they're so irreverent and at the same time elegant. I wore several Vera garments in the episode (the orange blouse in the Make Yourself At Home segment, the brown blouse in the Putting It Together segment, the purple butterfly dress in the Design for Living segment and the red blouse in the Out and About segment) and there were other Vera touches to be found throughout the course of the show – the scarf I draped over my arm in the cold open, the scarf with the butterflies on it in the craft segment and even the illustrations on the shelf in the background on the kitchen set were all Vera. Her collectable status is still under the radar, but growing. Find some before you get priced out of the market. Just don't outbid me on eBay!
