Decadence, overindulgence, excess - we're all guilty of it at some point or another. As long as we partake in moderation it can be something to celebrate! Here are a few ideas for responsible self-indulgence.

Incidental Treasures:

Envy...

We're assaulted with it all the time - the spoils of the rich - luxury items that we'd love to own, but can't even begin to touch on our budgets. There is a way to at least look like we're living the highlife. My friend Melissa Cardin came by to show me some of the beautiful creations of Swarovski - the Potentates of Paste - makers of fine faux fobs.

She brought along some beautiful things to look at. All the jewelry had the look of real pieces costing hundreds of thousands of dollars more then they actually did. If you're looking to keep up with the Vanderbilts, or at least look like you do, look into a few piece of Swarovski jewelry.

Out And About:

Lust...

We visited The Erotic Museum in Hollywood, California to explore the nature of the most taboo of the sins. The curator, Eric Singley was kind enough to show me around and tell me a little about the collection. He says that exploring the nature of sexuality in a museum isn't about pulling back the magic to explore the inner workings of desire, it's about pulling back the fear to let the magic work its wonders. Stop by if you have a chance, it's a very interesting museum!

Pride...

How do you blow your own horn without putting people off?

Cite specific of examples of your accomplishments and back them up with hard facts. Avoid superlatives, like "The Greatest" or "The Best" and if you have figures to illustrate your skills - units sold, deals closed, etc. - use them. Don't mention the same achievement over and over again, instead talk about how your success has inspired you to explore other challenges, and always share credit where appropriate. Remember, graciousness says as much about you as your resume!

Random Thoughts:

The wardrobe for this episode was such fun to put together. I got to pull out all the stops and wear the most outrageous clothes. I especially like the gold and silver gown and the blue wide wale corduroy top and pink pants. The "Lisa Douglas" peignoir was something I whipped up myself on the off days between shooting. It was fun and easy to make. The apron Jennifer wears in the cooking segment was provided by Beverly Feldman. It's from her Kiss me in the Kitchen line of products.
